Thematically Durer's "Apocalypse" woodcuts are still relevant today. People's obsession with the apocalypse and the post-apocalptic world is seen in popular books and films. Durers "Rhinoceros" is directly related with the spread of images today. Durer had never seen a rhinoceros and created this image based off of a description of a rhinoceros. At a time where most people would not be able to travel and look at these exotic animals for themselves, the spread of Durer's image gave people a chance to see this animal. Similarly, images are widely spread in the media. You no longer have to witness the event first hand when an image exists. That image could of course be incredibly biased or wrong, as Durer's representation of a rhinoceros is not entirely accurate.
